Pandora's Box (Danny Phantom)

Pandora's Box

Pandora's Box is a supernatural artifact that holds the evils in the worlds of both the living and the dead, and it is featured in the Nickelodeon cartoon series Danny Phantom.

Origins

Prior to the events in the episode "Boxed Up Fury", long ago in ancient Greek times, an ecto-sapien called Pandora, seeing that both the Earthly Realm and the Ghostly Realm were plagued with forces of 'malevolence' and 'evil', wished to seal it all away and so used her powers to craft a 'box' (with 2 switches, "spew" and "reverse") that would keep the evil forces contained and make both the Earth and the Ghost Zone better places. Pandora and her 'Pandora's Box' would come to be remembered in Greek mythology, although the myths depicted her as a curious woman who released the evils.

In "Boxed Up Fury", the Box Ghost, desperate to gain the attention and the fear of both humans and ghosts, sneaks into Pandora's lair and steals the box. Upon opening it, the Box Ghost unwittingly absorbs portions of the Box's powers, slowly increasing in power and malevolence. Even his color scheme changes from blue to an angry red. Only through trickery from Danny's side did Pandora act in time to stop the Box Ghost and retrieve her box.

Trivia
