The Burning is a global catastrophe that will occur in Mobius' future and an event in the 2 stories "Enter: Blaze" and "Last Hero Standing" of "Issue 255" of Sonic the Comic Online.
Some years in the future, a wave of destruction hit Mobius. Where all on the planet was green and peaceful, it was replaced by burning Zones and continents that fell one after the other. It soon transpired that the destruction was caused by Super Sonic, otherwise known as the Iblis.
Although little is known of the aftermath, it is obvious that Mobius is now a barely inhabitable husk with the population living in fear of the next Iblis attack. G.U.N. (Guardian United Nations), along with Silver the Hedgehog, continued to offer resistance but were eventually defeated.
